Where the work is in Barnet
Work comes up near High Barnet, Chipping Barnet and New Barnet, much of it within reach of Barnet Hospital. Between Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and the local council, most of what we staff around East Barnet sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: High Barnet, Chipping Barnet and New Barnet one week, East Barnet, Arkley and Whetstone the next. If you are based around EN5 or N20, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
The job day to day
- ✓ Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
- ✓ Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected
- ✓ Reporting changes and keeping clear records
- ✓ Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable
- ✓ Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
When you would work
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Whetstone is easier for you to reach than Totteridge, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Totteridge.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between High Barnet and East Barnet first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
Before you apply
- ✓A caring, patient and reliable approach
- ✓Good spoken and written communication
- ✓Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓The right to work in the UK
Working with Protocol
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your London shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Barnet itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Mill Hill, Borehamwood and Finchley as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Barnet.
Tell us which parts of London you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
