Care Home roles in Blandford Forum

Protocol Healthcare Services recruits for nursing and residential homes in and around Blandford Forum, covering everything from a single shift to a permanent contract. We place Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, senior carers and support staff.

Blandford Forum and the area we cover

Work comes up near Market Place, Salisbury Street and East Street, much of it within reach of Blandford Community Hospital. Between Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust and Dorset Council, most of what we staff around Damory Court sits under one of the two.

Shifts land right across the patch: Market Place, Salisbury Street and East Street one week, Damory Court, Milldown and Langton Long the next. If you are based around DT11 or DT11, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.

What you would be doing

  • Clear record keeping and handover between shifts
  • Personal care, washing, dressing and continence support
  • Supporting residents at mealtimes and with nutrition
  • Mobility support and safe moving and handling
  • Medication support appropriate to your role and training
  • Activities, companionship and keeping families informed

Shifts, and how they are booked

Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Langton Long is easier for you to reach than Blandford St Mary, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Blandford St Mary.

We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Market Place and Damory Court first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

What we look for

  • Previous care home experience is helpful but not always required
  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Reliability and a genuinely person-centred approach
  • NMC registration if you are applying for a Registered Nurse post

What we do for you

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Dorset shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Blandford Forum itself, which we would rather say plainly.

If you can travel, there is steady work in Wimborne, Ferndown and Wareham as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Blandford Forum.

Tell us which parts of Dorset you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
