Support Worker roles in Chippenham

Support Worker roles in Chippenham cover a lot of ground: supported living, mental health services, learning disability support and community teams. Protocol Healthcare Services places people on agency shifts and in permanent posts across all of it.

Chippenham and the area we cover

Chippenham Community Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Monkton Park and Cepen Park draw staff from the same pool. Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust runs services locally, with Wiltshire Council commissioning the social care alongside them.

Most placements are in Monkton Park, Pewsham and Cepen Park, with regular work further out at Hardenhuish, Lowden and Rowden. Postings run through SN15 and SN14, including out at Redland.

What you would be doing

  • Positive behaviour support and de-escalation, with training provided
  • Medication prompting and support appropriate to your training
  • Accurate notes and clear communication with the wider team
  • Supporting people with daily routines and personal care where needed
  • Encouraging independence, choice and everyday decision making
  • Supporting people to access work, education, activities and their community

Shifts, and how they are booked

Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Lowden on earlies and Rowden on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Monkton Park and Sheldon.

Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Cepen Park to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.

What we look for

  • Patience, resilience and respect for the people you support
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience in mental health or learning disability support is desirable, not essential
  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • The right to work in the UK

What we do for you

You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which Wiltshire services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Chippenham itself, which we would rather say plainly.

Swindon, Bristol and Gloucester are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Chippenham both.

Let us know your hours and how far you will travel from Monkton Park, and we will do the rest. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
