Where the work is in Brighton and Hove

The Royal Sussex County Hospital anchors a good deal of the health provision around Brighton City Centre and Hove, and the settings we recruit for sit close to it. Hove City Council commissions much of the care in the area, and University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust runs the clinical side.

We fill posts in Brighton City Centre, Hove, Kemptown and Hanover and out towards Portslade, Hangleton and Rottingdean. BN1, BN2 and BN3 come up most often, and work extends through East Sussex.

The job day to day

  • Medication prompting and support appropriate to your training
  • Accurate notes and clear communication with the wider team
  • Supporting people with daily routines and personal care where needed
  • Encouraging independence, choice and everyday decision making
  • Supporting people to access work, education, activities and their community
  • Positive behaviour support and de-escalation, with training provided

When you would work

You set your availability. Plenty of the people we place around Portslade work three or four shifts and keep the rest of the week their own. Most people settle into a handful of regular services, often within a few miles of Kemptown.

Agency and permanent are both on offer. Picking up shifts in two or three services around Hove is a low-risk way to find out where you want to be.
