Nurse roles in Swindon
Protocol Healthcare Services is looking for dedicated, compassionate and professional Registered Nurses to work in and around Swindon. We place nurses on both agency and permanent contracts, so whether you want to pick up shifts around other commitments or move into a settled post, there is a route for you.
Swindon and the area we cover
Work comes up near Old Town, Stratton and Covingham, much of it within reach of Great Western Hospital. Between Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Swindon Borough Council, most of what we staff around Gorse Hill sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Old Town, Stratton and Covingham one week, Gorse Hill, Rodbourne and West Swindon the next. Wiltshire is well within the area we cover.
What you would be doing
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
Shifts, and how they are booked
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If West Swindon is easier for you to reach than Abbey Meads, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Abbey Meads.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Old Town and Gorse Hill first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
What we look for
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
What we do for you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Wiltshire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Swindon itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Chippenham, Oxford and Cheltenham as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Swindon.
Tell us which parts of Wiltshire you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
