Nurse roles in Chichester
If you are an NMC-registered nurse living in or near Chichester, we would like to hear from you. Protocol Healthcare Services supplies nurses to community and healthcare settings across the UK, on temporary contracts, permanent contracts, or a mix of the two while you work out what suits.
Chichester and the area we cover
St Richard's Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Summersdale and Fishbourne draw staff from the same pool. University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust runs services locally, with West Sussex County Council commissioning the social care alongside them.
Most placements are in Summersdale, Whyke and Fishbourne, with regular work further out at Parklands, Bosham and Graylingwell. Postings run through PO19, PO18 and PO20, including out at Lavant.
What you would be doing
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
Shifts, and how they are booked
Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Bosham on earlies and Graylingwell on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Summersdale and West Broyle.
Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Fishbourne to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.
What we look for
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
What we do for you
You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which West Sussex services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Chichester itself, which we would rather say plainly.
Portsmouth, Worthing and Southampton are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Chichester both.
Let us know your hours and how far you will travel from Summersdale, and we will do the rest. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
Nurse Jobs in Chichester, answered
You need current NMC registration and the right to work in the UK. Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable but not essential, and we will talk through which settings around Chichester suit your background.
Day, night and weekend shifts, on full-time and part-time patterns. You set your availability and we work to it. Once you are established we can offer regular ongoing shifts rather than one-offs.
Both. We recruit for temporary and permanent positions, and many people start on agency shifts around Chichester before moving into a permanent post once they have found a service that suits them.
Across nursing homes, residential services, supported living, community teams and NHS settings. In practice that means Summersdale, Whyke, Fishbourne, Parklands and Bosham, covering PO19, PO18, PO20 and PO21, and out into West Sussex. St Richard's Hospital is the main hospital in the area.
We have immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Once your registration, right-to-work and DBS checks are in place, shifts can usually follow quickly. Call 020 8951 4510 or send us your details to get started.
