Care Home roles in Oldham
Protocol Healthcare Services recruits for nursing and residential homes in and around Oldham, covering everything from a single shift to a permanent contract. We place Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, senior carers and support staff.
Working around Oldham
Work comes up near Chadderton, Royton and Shaw, much of it within reach of The Royal Oldham Hospital. Between Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust and Oldham Council, most of what we staff around Failsworth sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Chadderton, Royton and Shaw one week, Failsworth, Lees and Uppermill the next. If you are based around OL1 or OL2, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
A typical shift
- ✓ Mobility support and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Medication support appropriate to your role and training
- ✓ Activities, companionship and keeping families informed
- ✓ Clear record keeping and handover between shifts
- ✓ Personal care, washing, dressing and continence support
- ✓ Supporting residents at mealtimes and with nutrition
Shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Uppermill is easier for you to reach than Saddleworth, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Saddleworth.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Chadderton and Failsworth first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
What you will need
- ✓NMC registration if you are applying for a Registered Nurse post
- ✓Previous care home experience is helpful but not always required
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Reliability and a genuinely person-centred approach
How we work with you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Greater Manchester shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Oldham itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Rochdale, Manchester and Salford as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Oldham.
Tell us which parts of Greater Manchester you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
