Care Home roles in Glasgow

Protocol Healthcare Services recruits for nursing and residential homes in and around Glasgow, covering everything from a single shift to a permanent contract. We place Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, senior carers and support staff.

Glasgow and the area we cover

Work comes up near West End, Hillhead and Partick, much of it within reach of Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Between Scotland and Glasgow City Council, most of what we staff around Broomhill sits under one of the two.

Shifts land right across the patch: West End, Hillhead and Partick one week, Broomhill, Dennistoun and Bridgeton the next. Scotland is well within the area we cover.

What you would be doing

  • Clear record keeping and handover between shifts
  • Personal care, washing, dressing and continence support
  • Supporting residents at mealtimes and with nutrition
  • Mobility support and safe moving and handling
  • Medication support appropriate to your role and training
  • Activities, companionship and keeping families informed

Shifts, and how they are booked

Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Bridgeton is easier for you to reach than Shawlands, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Shawlands.

We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between West End and Broomhill first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

What we look for

  • Reliability and a genuinely person-centred approach
  • NMC registration if you are applying for a Registered Nurse post
  • Previous care home experience is helpful but not always required
  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • The right to work in the UK

What we do for you

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Scotland shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Glasgow itself, which we would rather say plainly.

If you can travel, there is steady work in Paisley, East Kilbride and Hamilton as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Glasgow.

Tell us which parts of Scotland you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
