      Protocol Recruitment Services is looking for experienced Nurses, Care and Support staff to work in various residential homes across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and London. You will be working as part of a team, supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour.


      Care and Support Workers:

      Previous experience of working with people with learning disabilities is required, however, applications from candidates with the willingness to learn are welcomed to apply. Drivers with their own transport are desirable, but not essential. You must be very flexible and able to work shifts during the week and weekends.

      As a Support Worker, you will be involved in:

      • Supporting individuals to plan their care and health needs

      • Keeping records, including care plans, health records and logs

      • Personal care and housekeeping

      • Planning and supporting activities in the home and community

      • Undertaking the role as a key worker

      • Attending meetings and care reviews for individuals

      • Working to achieve desired outcomes for individuals 

      • Keeping in contact with professionals, families and friends

  • Live-In Carers


    Live-in carers are required to work in London and other areas across the UK on a 4 week on and 1 week off basis. This means you will live in the clients home and care for the client for 4 weeks and take a 1 week rest and then resume work again. Caring for people in their home as a live in carer requires you to do more than the normal home care jobs. Your duties will include:


    • Support with Personal Care or prompting client to undertake personal care, including skin care, bathing, shaving,
    • Oral care, toileting (including management of bladder & bowels), dressing, hair care.
    • Enabling mobility, including Moving & Handling transfers, pushing wheelchair, checking of specialist equipment e.g.
    • Wwheelchair seat cushion, driving of client’s vehicle, as directed.
    • Supporting client to meet their daily dietary needs. This includes assistance with menu planning, preparing, serving and storing of foods.
    • Support client to fulfil activities of daily living e.g. working, leisure, education.
    • Support with medications as prescribed by medical team.
    • Dealing with correspondence and financial matters as paying utility bills and other financial activity as requested.
    • Support or do household tasks e.g. changing beds, laundry, ironing, shopping.
    • Uphold and promote client’s confidentiality and discretion always.
    • Negotiate breaks with client to ensure that these are consented and mutually suitable, whilst monitoring working hours
    • Which should not exceed an average of between 8 and 10 per day.
    • Reporting incidences and accidents
    • Recording daily notes
    • Work in line with company policies and procedures.
    • Pet care if the client has pets
    • To attend training during your off days




    Training

    All care and support staff registered with us will have to show proof of training in:

    • Learning Disability
    • Equality and Diversity
    • Food Hygiene
    • Health and Safety
    • Infection Control
    • Safeguarding
    • and other related training.
